The outdoor space now features two distinct areas; the original smaller section which has been redesigned with comfortable lounge and bar style seating for up to 18 guests, predominantly for drinking and socialising, plus the new larger dining area for up to 48. Large parasols provide shade during the day, while patio heaters and blankets are available for chillier evenings. At quieter times, guests can also sit and relax over a drink in the dining area.

The Crown’s full AA two rosette restaurant lunch and dinner menu will be served at the tables so guests can choose whether to dine inside or out.

Head Chef Darran Hazelton uses Suffolk’s fresh, natural larder to create classic British menus with a twist utilising seasonal produce from land and sea for beautifully presented dishes. His latest spring menu includes River Deben mussels and locally grown asparagus for starters, while for mains there’s corn fed Suffolk chicken and the local catch of the day.

An additional menu will also be offered by The Crown during week beginning Monday,19th June to celebrate Suffolk Day on 21st June, with dishes featuring the best of the county’s produce on its doorstep. Key ingredients sourced from the heart of the Woodbridge area will include Sutton Hoo chickens, Hill Farm rapeseed oil and breads supplied by the bakery in Woodbridge, while all vegetables and fruits are grown and supplied by Virginia Nurseries of Woodbridge.
