Completehotels has successfully acquired the freehold of the Queens Head Inn from local businessman, Michael Padley, with further investment planned for the hotel to allow the refurbishment of bedrooms and outdoor areas in the near future. – News from Classic Lodges
Completehotels has operated the popular 2 AA Rosette pub/restaurant, which also has 10 bedrooms, since 2010 and has been a Classic Lodges Partner Property since 2012.
The directors of Completehotels are looking forward to developing the business further in 2016 and beyond: “Having owned and operated the business for the last five years we understand what makes it tick,” says Robert Smith, Managing Director and joint owner.
“In buying the freehold we can plan further ahead and invest with greater certainty, and develop the business with a clear strategy.”
Refurbishment work is already planned to some bedrooms and bathrooms. Completehotels is also exploring the possibility of improving the outdoor areas to make them more appealing to diners and outdoor drinkers in the warmer months.
Paul Smyth, Operations Director and joint owner who is based at the Queens Head Inn, says the purchase of the freehold means that they have longer-term stability for the existing team of management and staff, and can even look forward to employing and developing additional staff in the coming months:
“This is an exciting time to be involved with the Queens Head Inn as we start the next stage of our ambitious journey to make it a household name as the pre-eminent pub, restaurant and small hotel in the region.”
Richard Smith, Director of Marketing and Partnerships at Classic Lodges, adds: “We look forward to extending our relationship with Completehotels through next year and building on the success of this fantastic hotel.”
The Queens Head is renowned for its food and has a seasonally changing a la carte menu, specialising in high quality steaks including the world famous Wagyu. It was awarded its second AA Rosette in May 2014.
