Alice the Hawk nominated for Green awards

The University Hospital of South Manchester nominated the ‘Birds of a feather’ team (a division of Pestokill) for their Annual Green award for falconry bird dispersal services.

Head falconer Wayne Wrigley used Alice the hawk during a set flight program over the peak breeding season to discourage the birds from nesting. The Management of the Trust were delighted with the results, which has helped to minimise maintenance costs with blocked gutters from nests and accumulated bird guano.

Alice and her hawking friends disperse Seagulls and Pigeons from shopping centres, railway stations, sport stadiums and factories through a team program and accreditation scheme across the United Kingdom.

Birds of prey have been used for centuries by Kings and Peasants for hunting and dispersing birds, the reason is that when carried out professionally it works and looks great.
